– no iprouting
• Configure transparent bridge group
– bridge 1 protocol ieee
• Apply bridge group to the interface
– bridge-group 1
• Static resolution over multipoint NBMA
– frame-relay map bridge

• show bridge [num]
• showbridge [num] group
• show spanning-tree [num]
Integrated Routing & Bridging
• IRB allows you to route and bridge same protocol stack on same interface
• Uses Bridge Virtual Interface (BVI) to connect bridged domain with routed domain
– Same principle as SVI on Catalyst

• Configure Transparent Bridging
– bridge 1 protocol ieee
– bridge-group 1
• Enable IRB
– bridge irb
• Enable routing & bridging for the bridge-group
– bridge 1 bridge ip
– bridge 1 route ip
• Configure BVI to connect bridge & routed domain
